With the completion of the Postal stationary list my efforts can be focused on updating the images on the database. Approximately 60 new images have been uploaded to the website. I am also beginning a new long term project for the website. Due to the quality of some of the images, all of the images on the website will be rescanned. For issues with multiple stamps, each stamp will be scanned individually and posted on the website. The rescanning of the images has been completed through the country of Ajman.

An update was also made to the Stamp page. The page can now handle multiple images and each image is labeled with the Michel catalog number. The capability to add covers to the Stamp page was also implemented. Minor bug fixes were made to the List and Statistics pages. Other pages may be fixed as they are identified. No new issues were added during this update. My focus for the near future will be on rescanning all of the images, scanning in new images, and adding in new issues periodically.

Over the past few weeks, quite a few things have been done on the website. Most importantly, the postal stationary list is now available and images have been uploaded for the ones to which I have access. The list is in no way complete since I do not have a good source for postal stationary listings. Any help with the list would be appreciated. A link has been added to the Want To Help page specifically requesting information on postal stationary items. In conjunction with the postal stationary list upload, the Stamp page has been modified to handle postal stationary items. This completes the first two goals set for the year.

This update also contains some minor bug fixes and layout changes. The bug fixes primarily address broken links that could occur with specific input to the website. The minor visible changes are the layout on the Stamp page and the Cancels checkbox on the Search Page which has been grayed out. I chose to gray out the Cancel check box because there are currently no cancels on the list. At the point where cancels are added to the lists, the check box will be ungrayed and available for selection. New issues have been added to the database and modifications have been made on some of the listings.

The completion of the postal stationary list will allow me to turn my attention to scanning in newly acquired issues and updating/maintaining the database. I am aware of a few small issues on the List Page and the Statistics page. Those will be fixed when I get the chance. Nothing has been done yet with regards to the Auction, the Forum, or user integration.

Thank you to all of you who take the time to email with suggestions and corrections. It's a continual source of inspiration for maintaining the website. For now, enjoy the website and feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions.

The beginning of the new year brings with it the opportunity to set new goals. Last year, I set the following 4 goals for the website: 1) Continue scanning in newly acquired issues and upload the scans to the site that I have received from the users. 2) Complete the addition of keywords to the stamp lists (Countries I through Z). 3) Modify the Stamp page and List page to accomodate postal stationary and cancels. 4) Create and upload a comprehensive list of postal stationary, postal cards, and aerogrammes to the site. Most of the time I spent during the year was on database maintenance. Keywords have been added to all the listings which I have been able to visually inspect. I also began work on the comprehensive list of postal stationary, but have not finished it. I did not scan or upload any images this year nor were the Stamp and List pages modified to handle the different types of records. Overall, much work was done but it was not the work originally anticipated, and the most important work (the maintenance and update of the databases) was completed.

In order of expected completion, the goals for this year are as follows: 1) Create and upload a comprehensive list of postal stationary, postal cards, and aerogrammes to the site, 2) Modify the Stamp page and List page to accomodate postal stationary and cancels, and 3) Complete the scanning in of newly acquired issues and upload the scans to the site that I have received from the users. As usual, there are several back-burner projects for the website that may come into play during the year. I'm looking at a different auction software package and different forum software, something that can be housed on-site. At some point I hope to integrate a user login into the website.

In the past few weeks, countries from T to Z have been updated with Michel catalog values and numbers. This now will free me up to work on other aspects of the website. My new focus will be on completing the Postal Stationary lists. Once that is finished, I will rewrite the Stamp and List pages to handle the different data types.
